Brown Stonefly Beadhead Nymph Fly

The Brown Stonefly Beadhead Nymph is a highly effective all-around trout nymph designed for consistent success in rivers and streams. Featuring a beadhead for added weight, this fly sinks quickly, making it ideal for fast currents, deep runs, and pocket water where trout feed close to the bottom.

This realistic stonefly nymph imitation also doubles as a general attractor, mimicking a range of aquatic nymphs commonly found in mountain streams and freestone rivers. Its natural brown coloration closely matches wild stonefly larvae, giving anglers confidence when fish are selective.

Fish this beadhead stonefly nymph using a dead-drift presentation, casting upstream or across the current and allowing the fly to drift naturally along the riverbed. It’s an excellent choice for nymph rigs, indicator fishing, and Euro nymphing setups.

If you’re stocking your fly box with just one stonefly color, this natural brown stonefly nymph is a smart, versatile option—effective year-round and trusted by trout anglers worldwide.
