The Black Hare’s Ear Nymph is a legendary all-purpose trout fly that belongs in every angler’s box. Known for its buggy profile and dark coloration, this pattern is highly effective because it can imitate a wide range of aquatic insects, including caddis larvae, mayfly nymphs, and stonefly nymphs.

Key Features:

• Natural hare’s ear dubbing for a lifelike, buggy texture.

• Dark profile for low-light conditions and clear waters.

• Durable ribbing for extended use.

• Works in both freestone rivers and stillwaters.

Best Conditions to Use:
The Black Hare’s Ear Nymph is a true year-round producer. It excels in both fast and slow water and is especially deadly during non-hatch periods when trout are opportunistically feeding.

Fishing Techniques:

• Fish it as a point fly in Euro nymph rigs.

• Use it as a dropper beneath a dry fly.

• Dead-drift it near the bottom or let it swing at the end of a drift for emerging action
