The Pine Squirrel Leech is built around ultra-dense pine squirrel fur, a material known for its short, fine fibers and naturally tapered tips. Unlike longer leech materials, pine squirrel produces controlled, deliberate movement that remains consistent across varying current speeds. The fur absorbs water efficiently, giving the fly a compact, weighted feel without excessive bulk. When submerged, the fibers pulse subtly, maintaining motion even during slow retrieves or pauses. The natural sheen of pine squirrel adds understated flash without relying on synthetic materials, while its tight fiber structure preserves a clean silhouette. Carefully distributed wraps prevent matting and ensure durability, resulting in a leech pattern defined by precision, density, and refined underwater behavior.
