STP or Swimming Topwater Popping Frog emphasizes surface versatility through a combination of body geometry and material placement. The cupped face creates controlled water displacement, enabling the fly to push, pop, or glide depending on retrieve speed. The buoyant body sits firmly in the surface film, resisting submersion even when retrieved aggressively. Rubber legs of varying lengths are positioned to trail naturally, adding independent motion that reacts to line tension and water movement. The flattened underside enhances surface contact and prevents unwanted rotation. Hook placement remains centered within the body, supporting clean alignment and predictable surface tracking. This design allows consistent performance across a range of topwater presentations.
